Since 2000, alternative investment research has been part of the annual SFR Institutional Investment Services Programme. We study the structure of the alternative investment portfolio and analyse demand trends among different investor groups. Specific sections on, e.g. the use of consultants, are followed by a detailed examination of which companies have been selected to provide these services to institutional investors, how their role has changed and how they are expected to change.
We want to delve deeper into the world of alternative investments, and in 2022 we conducted a separate pilot study on alternative investing.
In 2023, we launched an alternative fund study looking at alternative investment funds and their managers. The study is divided into two themes: trends in alternative investing and assessments by alternative fund managers. Our goal is to obtain peer reviews of Finnish alternative investment fund managers and to promote their recognition and investability among professional investors. In the study, we interview investors in Finnish alternative investment funds. The study will be completed in spring 2024.
